This is somewhere in Park Slope, I think. I was out of the borough when it hit. Friends say it was quick but furious.

Mt. Prospect Park. Brooklyn, US. Tornadoes. In Brooklyn. This shit is all over the place. Plus, scapechickens. Dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria…

Man, what happened? This summer came like a blast and leveled my ability or desire to do anything. It has finally settled once more into the comfortable 70s, after the last blast of Crown Heights’ annual summer send-off, the West Indian Day Parade. Just a few blocks from our place, 1-2 MILLION (!!!) people gather on Eastern Parkway to take in the beautiful blaring sound systems and the tasty (yes, I tried it!) jerk chicken and rotis. Its almost enough to make you forget the raging intolerance that made parts of the city a little uglier this summer. But now its like picking up the pieces and back to the grind. At least the local color stays. Big up CH!

The magic of Western Otsuka. This is on one of the winding back paths from Ikebukuro to Otsuka. Far from the shopping frenzy of East Ikebukuro.

Toden Arakawa line-apparently, the last tram in Tokyo. I used to take this regularly–much more pleasant than the famous and famously crowded Yamanote sen.
